About me

I am a consultant gynaecologist specialising in severe endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and complications in early pregnancy.

I specialise in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery), in particular management of severe endometriosis for women with chronic pelvic pain and subfertility. I provide minimal access surgery for women with heavy menstrual bleeding, ovarian pathologies and fibroids. I specialise in ultrasound scanning and 3D ultrasound for management of women with miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, recurrent miscarriages and second trimester miscarriages.

I have been qualified for over 15 years and I have provided keyhole surgery for women requiring excision of severe endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids and hysterectomies since my appointment as an NHS consultant in 2017. I perform weekly ultrasound scan clinics and have supported and managed complications of pregnancy including miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies for thousands of women. I am passionate about delivering high quality and compassionate care.

My NHS practice is at St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester where I was clinical lead for early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology between 2017 and 2022. Within the NHS I run a clinic specifically for women who has experienced second trimester loss and provide advanced surgical procedures to minimise future risks.

I am a named surgeon at Northwest Pelvic pain and endometriosis centre at St. Mary's Hospital, one of the largest tertiary endometriosis referral centres in the UK. I set up a regional referral clinic to diagnose and manage non-tubal ectopic pregnancies in the Northwest. I am also a part of the North West Gynaecology team which provides private gynaecology services encompassing all the gynaecologic subspecialties.

I am passionate about training and have supervised the training for specialty trainees undertaking the advanced training module for Advanced laparoscopic surgery for excision of benign disease in the last six years. I have been an associate tutor for specialty trainees and have been nominated for the trainer of the year award this year in 2023.

I work closely with our national pregnancy loss charity CRADLE and have built strong relationships with our local educational team to ensure high quality compassionate care is delivered in our services at St. Mary's Hospital Manchester.

My recent leadership position involves digital transformation within our gynaecology department in Manchester Foundation Trust.
