About me

Im a HCPC-registered psychologist based in London. I understand that seeking psychological support can be daunting for people and that is why I place emphasis on creating a compassionate, confidential and relaxed environment in which I can support people to gain greater understanding of their difficulties and to establish new ways of coping to move forward with their lives.

I work in the private sector and the NHS with both children and adolescents and also adults as a Lead Specialist Health Psychologist. I maintain a specialist interest in working with individuals, families (systemic work) or couples with clinical health problems and in particular trauma, depression and anxiety related difficulties. I work with neurodiverse patients regularly, in all my roles and am familiar with how best to support those with comorbid conditions.

I also really enjoy ethnic minorities work as I connect to this very much. Social GRACES is also integral to my working and my ethics.

I take a person-centred approach, working flexibly and collaboratively with patients to fit the therapy to them, not them to the therapy. I work in an integrative way, meaning I am able to draw on a range of psychological models to guide our work. I am able to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy as well as being trauma informed in the work we do together. I tend to use what feels best to make sense of a person and/or family difficulties. Alongside this I aim to deliver strategies such as models of adjustment, resilience and coping and acceptance to clients/patients and their families.

My practice is outcomes focused. Very often my clients/patients have a particular goal in mind, whether it be returning to 'normality' or improving self worth, coping skills or mood. I also include some family work if that feels safe and appropriate for my patient. I work with clients/patients from the initial assessment right to their discharge / ending - with a focus on helping them achieve their goals, using practical skills and formulation.

I can see clients/patients in person or undertake assessments and further sessions via Zoom, Skype or Teams.

Areas of interest

I work with a wide variety of conditions which include long standing conditions and those that have recently developed.

Very often patients will be suffering from one or more conditions. My specialist expertise includes the following conditions although this list is not exhaustive and I am able to assist patients with other conditions. Here are some difficulties I have worked with recently:

Depression; Anxiety; Anger Management; Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), School related issues (coping with ADHD / ASD, bullying etc); Social Anxiety, Chronic Pain, Other pain related concerns; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma; Family / Couples work; Stress Management; Low Self-Esteem / Self-Compassion; Loss / Bereavement; Adjustment to and living with other Long-Term Health Conditions; Relationships and Attachment difficulties; Shame and Guilt; Addiction and Habits
