About me

I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience providing psychological assessments and therapy to adults including specializing in providing psychological treatment people with physical health conditions. My qualifications include an MA (Hons) Psychology Degree (1998) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2003). I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I am experienced in providing a safe space to explore and process the psychological and emotional aspects of a person’s ill health experience (something which is often overlooked in traditional medical care). I have many years’ experience doing so with the following conditions: oncology/cancer, cardiac issues, renal failure, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, long covid, significant bodily changes due to accident or ill health, pre surgical psychological assessments (e.g mastectomy, hysterectomy, plastic surgery). I am also experienced in supporting the psychological needs of people who are receiving end of life or palliative care.

In addition, I provide psychological therapy and support to healthcare staff who may be experiencing difficulties because of their professional work as health care providers (stress, anxiety, depression, burnout and trauma).
