About me
Mr Ahmed Etman is a highly experienced minimal access gynaecological surgeon specialising in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He has a particular interest in benign and gynaecological oncology day?case surgery.
Ahmed graduated from Cairo University in 2006 and completed his higher Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in the North East of England. He further developed his specialist expertise as a Gynaecological Oncology Fellow at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. He joined Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in 2018 and served as Clinical Lead for Gynaecology from 2020 to 2022.
In 2021, Ahmed established the Trust's robotic gynaecology programme, working alongside a small team of gynaecological surgeons and other surgical specialties, helping to develop a successful and sustainable service.
His clinical interests include gynaecological oncology, menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts and pelvic masses, endometriosis, colposcopy, and minimally invasive day?case surgery. He is accredited in minimal access surgery by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and accredited in colposcopy by the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
