About me
I'm a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting adults and young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. These include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and work-related stress. I also provide thorough ADHD assessments and formal diagnoses for adults.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), always guided by what works best for you.
I offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults, including detailed clinical interviews, standardized questionnaires, and where appropriate, collateral information. These assessments aim to provide clarity and recommendations to support ongoing care and day-to-day life.
Alongside private practice, I currently work in an NHS hospital service supporting staff experiencing mental health challenges. I have also worked across various NHS settings, including community mental health teams and pain management services. I have a specialist research interest in trauma and PTSD.
I offer a free initial telephone consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have. If you'd like to book this or find out more, please feel free to contact me by email at laurengrainger@protonmail.com
