About me

Hi, My name is Sarah Casamassima I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor Located in Leeds. At Safe Hands Counselling Solutions, I aim to provide a friendly and understanding environment for individuals, in one to one sessions which I offer face to face via zoom and by phone. I work with adults, couples, young people and children (from 9+ years). These can be scheduled at a convenient time for you (depending on availability) and adhering to the BACP code of ethics so that clients can feel safe enough in order to truly focus on what their needs are.
I am an integrative therapist who aims to facilitate sessions to fit your needs by using different styles of therapy that could be most helpful for you.
I aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment as I believe this is a must for counselling sessions to take place. I have put a lot of thought into what it means to be a patient with me, and I aim to make all of my sessions feel safe, empathic, non-judgemental and calming – I want you to feel comfortable as I help you through what can be a new experience.

I'm professionally qualified to a Masters level and registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member I am bound by their professional Code of Practice and Ethical Framework.
There are numerous advantages of accessing counselling are as wide-ranging as they are long-lasting. Offering a range of benefits, counselling can bring a sense of clarity to the mind and an improved sense of direction too. In the long term, counselling can help to build resilience, help to organise your thoughts and feelings as well as work through past trauma reduce anxiety and support through the grief and bereavement process.
I am passionate about working with clients to provide a safe empathic and non-judgemental space to talk through and process their emotions and past experiences that can bring about positive change.
I have been working in counselling for seven years with specific experience with anxiety, depression, bereavement, and trauma. I have had extensive experience with working with children and young people within school settings, face to face and via zoom (14+ years) as I am passionate about early intervention and the benefits of counselling from an early age.

The first session will be a chance to discuss and explore what you would like from the sessions and reasons for wanting to start counselling. This will also be the time for me to explore your expectations and needs to assess if counselling is appropriate and if we think we would be a good fit to work together therapeutically. I will also be able to go through and answer any questions that you may have about our therapeutic contracting and confidentiality.
