About me
Mr Venkatesh Subramanian is a highly esteemed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, specialising in reproductive medicine, at King's College Hospital and King's Fertility. He is also the clinical lead for hysteroscopy at King's College Hospital and the South London preceptor for hysteroscopy training. Mr Subramanian also holds an honorary senior lectureship at King's College London.
Mr Subramanian completed his medical degree at the University of Nottingham in 2010, followed by training in the renowned South London rotation, which included prestigious institutions such as King's College Hospital and Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital. During his training, he became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and achieved certification of specialist training in recognition of his proficiency in the medical and surgical management of infertility, complications of early pregnancy, and hysteroscopic surgery. He also holds an MPhil in reproductive surgical simulation.
Mr Subramanian later completed a senior clinical fellowship in reproductive medicine at King's Fertility. During this fellowship he developed advanced skills in assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures, including egg collection, intrauterine insemination and embryo transfer. His exceptional competence in the field led to independent accreditation of his skills and expertise by the British Fertility Society.
Mr Subramanian also has expertise in advanced ultrasound including ultrasound for the diagnosis of endometriosis, 3D gynaecological ultrasound and ultrasound assessment of fallopian tube patency (HyCoSy). His skills in advanced ultrasound have been independently certified by both the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Subramanian is an active academic and clinical researcher. His research has been published in esteemed journals such as the British Medical Journal (BMJ), BJOG (British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), and Human Reproduction. In addition, he has presented his work at conferences both nationally and internationally, winning several prizes for his contributions.
Beyond his clinical and research expertise, Mr Subramanian remains actively engaged in audit, training, and medical education. In recognition of his contribution to research and education he was awarded a distinguished Honorary senior lectureship by King’s College London. His commitment to staying at the forefront of medical knowledge and sharing his expertise enables him to continuously contribute to the growth and development of the medical community, as well as ensuring that his patients receive safe effective care.
