About me

People come to therapy, either face to face or online, for all sorts of reasons – we may be feeling anxious or low, struggling with work or a personal relationship, or have experienced trauma, either recently or in the past. Sometimes life simply overwhelms us and we can feel anxious for no known reason – we can’t “see the wood for the trees”. It can be very difficult to talk things through with those close to us, who may indeed actually be part of the problem. This is where professional counselling can help, offering a warm, safe space where you can talk in complete confidence and with no fear of judgement.

I have a very broad range of counselling experience, having worked extensively with people with all kinds of issues, from relationship and workplace problems to past traumatic experience.
  As well as my private Basingstoke practice, I worked for several years with both adults and young people for a local charity. I am registered with and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a powerful therapy that helps people recover from problems triggered by past traumatic events. I have completed a three-part training accredited by EMDR Europe, and am a member of the EMDR Association.
My practice is based in Basingstoke town centre, close to car parks and within easy walking distance of the train and bus stations. I am also happy to work online, and have completed a course in online work approved by ACTO – the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online.
We can’t change what has happened in the past, but we can explore it and look to change what we do in the now for a better tomorrow.
