About me
I am a Principal Clinical Psychologist, EMDR therapist and systemic practitioner with over 23 years experience in mental health, providing psychological assessments and treatment interventions for adults and families experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties and mental health problems. I have worked in a range of services including with the NHS, various charitable projects and with independent providers. I have supervised trainees, psychologists and mental health nurses over the years and have delivered training to health professional groups including trauma informed care to midwifery, perinatal and medical educators. I also have experience of offering psychological consultations to professionals, including to social care staff.
Research interests:
Experiences of birthing and accessing support in the perinatal period.
Dr Arshad is also a qualitative research field supervisor offering supervision to research trainees [for Clinical Psychology doctorate courses or related Masters courses in the UK].
