About me
Lucy Barker has been a consultant since 2013. She is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital specialising in paediatric ophthalmology, adult and paediatric cataract surgery and strabismus. She is also an honorary consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children.
Lucy trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital, completing a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus in 2012-2013. She worked for four years at the Rwandan International Institute for Ophthalmology in Kigali, Rwanda, again specialising in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, which provided a wealth of experience. She returned to the UK and completed her training in paediatric cataract at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children before taking up her current position.
Lucy’s clinic sees children with a wide range of eye conditions including:

• Testing for glasses, including long-sight, short-sight and astigmatism
• Amblyopia (lazy eye) and patching
• Cataracts in babies and children
• Squint (strabismus) and double vision including treatment with botox or surgery

• Problems with visual interpretive issues
• Conditions affecting the front of the eye
• Allergic eye disease
