About me

Hello there.

I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with the BABCP. The training as a CBT therapist provided me with a very broad range of skills for helping people with their problems.

I will work with people all kinds of problems including:
depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, health anxieties, panic disorder, motivational problems, self-esteem problems, self-confidence issues, phobias, alcohol problems, and many other issues, and life-coaching.

My experience includes working as a therapist, but also delivery of group work for 18 years in:
1 mindfulness
2 applied-relaxation
3 imagery and visualisation
4 yoga
5 addiction recovery
6 weight management

My special interest is with weight management using a low carbohydrate model, in which I have ran a support group for 9 years.

My experience working with both individuals
and with groups has provided me with a flexible skill set.

I am proficient with training and people in various wellbeing skills. eg applied relaxation, or imagery, mindfulness skills.

I also have an educational approach with clients meaning anyone I do work with will learn a lot of practical and theoretical skills to manage their problems.

I take part in regular training and monthly supervision as an accredited therapist to ensure I am always updating new skills and insights as time moves forwards.

I am a member of the PVG scheme in Scotland.

I work with an age range from 18 onwards.

I work remote only; telelphone based.

Areas of interest

coping with chronic illness; energy problems; weight management using a low carbohydrate approach; motivation; depression; stress managment and imagery; relaxation exercises.
