About me
Hello there.
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP) with extensive experience supporting individuals and groups experiencing a wide range of psychological and wellbeing difficulties. I work remotely and provide therapy via telephone, offering flexible, accessible, and evidence-based support.
My journey into therapy began with developing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME in 1996, an experience with many similarities to Long Covid. Having lived for years without adequate support, I understand the importance and value of compassionate, effective help. This personal experience, combined with my professional training, continues to motivate my work with clients.
Clinical Experience
I have significant experience working with people experiencing:
 Generalised anxiety
 Depression and low mood
 OCD
 PTSD
 Health anxiety
 Panic disorder
 Low self-esteem and confidence issues
 Specific phobias
 Alcohol-related difficulties
 Motivational problems
 Life-coaching goals
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME and Long Covid
as well as a broad range of other mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
CBT Approach
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps individuals understand the links between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By identifying unhelpful patterns and developing more balanced perspectives, clients can reduce distress and build long-term resilience.
Core principles include:
It is not events themselves that disturb us, but the way we interpret those events.
Thoughts shape emotions and actions changing how we think and behave can meaningfully change how we feel.
CBT focuses on what maintains difficulties in the present and teaches clients to become their own therapist.
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
I hold a Diploma in Compassion Focused Therapy from the Compassionate Mind Foundation.
CFT is especially helpful for people experiencing shame, self-criticism, or harsh inner judgement. It draws on evolutionary psychology, attachment theory, neuroscience, and CBT to help individuals cultivate compassion, regulate emotion, and improve wellbeing.
