About me
Dr. Sethu Mani-Babu is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine. He currently works within the NHS as the musculoskeletal lead for Dorking Healthcare as well as for the Ministry of Defence at Wellington Barracks in London.
He has experience working in elite sport having worked with Essex County Cricket Club, Colchester United FC, Fulham FC and Charlton Athletic FC.
He completed his medical training in 2013 at St. George�s University of London. During this time he attained a 1st Class honours in his intercalated BSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. He completed his higher specialist training in Sport and Exercise Medicine in the East of England Deanery in 2022, rotating through East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation trust as well as Addenbrooke�s Hospital in Cambridge, and gained membership to the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine on completion of training.
He has a PgCert in musculoskeletal ultrasound and has gained significant experience through a weekly NHS ultrasound list. He continues to regularly use ultrasound in his clinics to aid in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries as well as perform ultrasound guided injections.
His experience of assessing and treating elite athletes, the military population as well as those presenting to his NHS service has allowed him manage a wide array of musculoskeletal injuries in a variety of settings.
He has a keen interest in teaching and education and frequently teaches medical student and junior doctors.
Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family, going for long walks and playing tennis.
