Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or CBT is a form of psychotherapy. CBT is an evidence based psychological therapy recommended in NICE guidance as a first line approach for the treatment of Anxiety, Depression and PTSD. CBT uses a practical, experiential approach todevelop alternative thinking patterns and behaviour to reduce feelings of Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. CBT can help you if you are experiencing difficulties with: Agoraphobia, Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD), Depression, Emetophobia, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Illness Anxiety, Loss and bereavement, Low Self-Esteem,Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic, Perfectionism, Phobia,Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,Rumination?, Social Anxiety,Stress, Tokophobia, Trauma, Trichotillomania. I am experienced in applying CBT to these areas and supporting individuals who are experiencing them.

My Philosophy

I recognise that when we experience emotional difficulties we need to feel heard, have a way of making sense of what we are feeling and gain a sense of hope for the future. I have an adaptive style, I would aim to adapt myself and the therapy to you so that the support feels bespoke and individualised to you. We would work 'shoulder to shoulder' at each stage of the therapy, at your pace to meet your therapy goals. I would value and encourage your contributions throughout our work together and aim to empower you. I would strive to create a curious, safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space.?

I offer a free 20 minute introduction appointment. Please contact further to arrange this.
