About me

I graduated from the medical school of the University of Cambridge and completed my clinical training as well as spinal fellowship in U.K.. I have a postgraduate doctorate degree in spine.

I have been a full-time Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon in U.K. since 2003, and was a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London and a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon at the St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals, London, from 2003 to 2013. Throughout this period, I was the Lead for Complex Spine Surgery as well as being the Head of Neurosurgery Department for two years.

I have a vast experience of spinal surgery (except for children aged less than 16 years) and general neurosurgery undertaking around 250 procedures per year, with six outpatient clinics weekly. I have a sub-specialist clinical interest in spinal lesions, spinal biomechanics, spinal implants and instrumentation, minimal invasive spinal surgery and spinal cord regeneration. I publish papers and book chapters widely, undertake research and am a PhD examiner at Kings College and Imperial College, University of London.
