About me

Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential place for you to be able to express and explore what is going on for you, however difficult or painful that may be. My aim would be to develop with you a trusting relationship, and to support you to develop new awareness and find a way forward.

I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor working at North Bar House in Banbury, and I have worked effectively with people experiencing a range of issues including: anxiety; depression; stress; bereavement, grief and loss; life-changes and transitions; trauma; abuse; stress; low self-esteem; identity; relationship issues; academic and work problems; and existential and spiritual issues.

I am a warm, attentive listener and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work according to BACP professional ethics. My therapeutic style has a Person-Centred heart into which I integrate other psychotherapeutic ways of working when helpful, including aspects of Transactional Analysis, CBT, Gestalt and psychodynamic approaches.

I have worked as a therapist in Banbury for over 10 years and, currently, my private practice is based at North Bar House where I see private clients, as well as referrals via medical insurance and Employee Assistance Programmes. My previous experience has seen me working for a bereavement service, and within a university counselling service, and I have enjoyed several years teaching trainee counsellors.

Appointments can be in-person in a comfortable therapy room at North Bar House in Banbury, or remotely via video or telephone session.
