About me
Dr Susie Gabbie is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician. She works at the Portland Hospital in Central London.
Dr Gabbie has also been a Consultant Paediatrician at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust since 2009, where she is the Service Lead for Paediatrics.
She has over 28 years' clinical experience, including general and emergency paediatrics, ward based work and outpatients. She is happy to look after all children from newborns through to 18 years old. She has a focus on making all children and families feel at ease, in order to ensure the most productive and positive experience possible.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Gabbie has led the department at the Royal Free for 5 years, managing their team of 25 consultants. She also held the position of Specialty Training Director, in which she ran the training programme for the resident doctors.
She remains closely involved in teaching and training, working as an educational supervisor for several resident doctors and physician's assistants, as well as instructing on Advanced Paediatric Life Support and Neonatal Life Support courses.
Dr Gabbie is a Performance Assessor and Team Leader for the General Medical Council in which she evaluates poorly performing doctors in order to ensure patient safety remains paramount. She is also part of the Training Team who deliver regular teaching sessions to all levels of assessors across the GMC.
Dr Gabbie herself has 3 children, and understands the joys and pressures that parenthood can bring.
