About me
Mr Saleh Okhovat is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with subspecialist expertise in rhinology, anterior skull base surgery, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is currently based at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is a core member of the multidisciplinary Skull Base Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Prior to his appointment in Cambridge, Mr Okhovat worked in Glasgow, where he led the endoscopic anterior skull base service within a high-volume tertiary referral centre. In this role, he developed extensive experience in the management of complex sinonasal disease, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and sinonasal tumours, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary skull base team.
Mr Okhovat completed advanced fellowship training in endoscopic sinus surgery and minimally invasive anterior skull base surgery at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. He now serves as Fellowship Co-Director for the Cambridge University Hospitals Advanced Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery Fellowship, contributing actively to the training of the next generation of specialist surgeons.
His clinical practice encompasses the full breadth of rhinology, including chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis, and revision sinus surgery, as well as advanced endoscopic approaches to the skull base. He has particular expertise in complex frontal sinus surgery and extended endoscopic procedures.
In addition, Mr Okhovat has extensive experience in both functional and aesthetic nasal surgery. His practice includes septorhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and complex nasal reconstruction following trauma, previous surgery, or skin cancer resection. He has a strong interest in structural and reconstructive techniques, with a focus on restoring both form and function in challenging nasal cases.
Mr Okhovat has a well-established academic and research profile, with ongoing work focused on optimising outcomes in difficult-to-treat rhinological conditions, endoscopic skull base reconstruction, and reconstructive nasal surgery. He is an active member of the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (BSFPS) and currently serves on its council, reflecting his commitment to advancing standards in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
He is regularly invited to teach on national and international courses and is involved in postgraduate surgical education. His practice is characterised by a patient-centred approach, combining advanced surgical techniques with careful attention to individual patient goals and outcomes.
