Dr Jonell Smith is an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a BPS RAPPS registered clinical supervisor. Jonell is a psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate and personalised therapy services to individuals seeking support on their journey towards healing and growth. Jonell works in a collaborative, flexible, client-centred and integrative way. Jonell tailors her therapeutic approach to suit individual needs, goals and preferences and she offers a warm and welcoming approach, where you will work together at a pace that works well for you. Jonell encourages clients to play an active role in therapy, which is key to making progress. Jonell believes in the power of resilience, self-compassion, and empowerment. Together, you will work towards developing coping strategies, fostering self-care, and reclaiming a sense of control over your life.

Dr Jonell Smith has experience of providing psychological therapy in a number of settings including private practice, universities, the NHS and a number of other organisations. Within the NHS, Jonell has worked in a multi-disciplinary team; providing support to individuals experiencing comorbid chronic and long-term physical and mental health difficulties. Jonell has a special interest and extensive experience in supporting individuals who experience chronic pain, chronic health difficulties and trauma.

Jonell is trained to undertake assessment of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and is experienced in providing psychological therapies for adult ADHD. Jonell uses evidence-based psychological therapies such as CBT, Compassion-focussed therapy, ACT, EMDR, and Mindfulness-based therapy to work on these areas.

Along with running her private practice, Dr Jonell Smith is also a Professional Development Tutor and an Occasional Lecturer on the Professional Doctorate (DPsych) in Counselling Psychology programme at Glasgow Caledonian University.
