Dr Jonell Smith is an experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a BPS RAPPS registered clinical supervisor. She provides compassionate, personalised therapy, working collaboratively in a flexible, client-centred, and integrative way. Dr Jonell tailors her approach to suit each client's needs and goals, offering a warm, supportive environment where progress happens at your pace. She encourages active participation in therapy, helping you develop coping strategies, build self-compassion, and reclaim control over your life.
Dr Jonell Smith has experience of providing psychological therapy in a number of settings including private practice, universities, the NHS and a number of other organisations.
Dr. Jonell has a special interest in ADHD, trauma, chronic pain, and long-term health conditions. She is skilled in providing psychological therapies and has extensive experience supporting individuals facing these challenges. Dr. Jonell utilises evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy to work on these and related areas.
Along with running her private practice, Dr Jonell Smith is also a Professional Development Tutor and an Occasional Lecturer on the Professional Doctorate (DPsych) in Counselling Psychology programme at Glasgow Caledonian University.
