About me
A highly experienced dual qualified BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural and Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT) with 18 years of clinical experience and a background in Forensic and Liaison Psychiatry.
I feel passionate about providing high-quality, effective and individualised psychotherapy to help you to overcome the challenges that have brought you to therapy by using evidence-based approaches and drawing upon your strengths. Together we can help with adjusting to major life changes, self-esteem, anxiety, relationships, coping with stress and supporting you to maximise your potential and move toward recovery.
Having worked in a broad range of clinical specialisms and with people from a multitude of backgrounds, you will find me to be a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental professional. As a scientist-practitioner, we will make use of CBT and IPT approaches, with a CFT influence to understand your emotions, improve symptoms and overcome difficulties.
Together we will explore the current context of the situation, building an individualised understanding of the difficulties, identifying common maintaining factors and teaching you strategies to improve your situation. We will also consider your current network and how you make use of support, processing trauma and working through the barriers to change and thriving.
CBT is the treatment choice for Anxiety and Depressive difficulties. Interpersonal Psychotherapy explores the relational and social world.
