About me
I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist and counsellor providing counselling and psychotherapy in Poynton, Stockport.
I have experience of working with clients with a wide variety of problems including eating disorders, relationship issues, workplace issues, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, perfectionism and low self esteem. I am also experienced at working with the clients experiencing psychological and relationship difficulties arising through the abuse of alcohol and other recreational drugs.
I was employed as a senior psychological therapist with the Stockport NHS Community Eating Disorder Clinic for many years and have extensive experience in working with and treating anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder. I have formal training in both CBT-E for the treatment of eating disorders and MANTRA for the treatment of anorexia.
I am a qualified Integrative Transactional Analysis psychotherapist which enables a deeper exploration of the way individuals view and relate to themselves, others and the world and enables insight to be gained into why clients thing, feel and behave in response to certain situations. This is particularly useful where relationships at home or at work or causing difficulties and extensive experience has been gained both in my private practice and in work at the Stockport Women's Centre and a male prison.
