About me

Mr Tejas Yarashi is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery.

He completed his specialist training on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Rotation in London, gaining experience in complex shoulder and elbow surgery within the RNOH Shoulder & Elbow Unit, as well as exposure to peripheral nerve injuries and their management in the renowned Peripheral Nerve Injuries Unit. His major trauma expertise was developed at the Royal London Hospital, a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre.

Following completion of training, he undertook two post-CCT Fellowships in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. The first was in Brisbane, Australia, working with Professor Mark Ross and a team of upper limb surgeons, where he developed advanced expertise in trauma and elective surgery. The second was at the Liverpool Upper Limb Unit under the mentorship of Professor Peter Brownson, Past-President of the British Elbow & Shoulder Society, where he refined his skills in complex elective surgery.

In addition to these fellowships, Mr Yarashi completed international and national Travelling Observerships in Canada (Calgary and London, Ontario), France (Lyon), Spain (Barcelona), and several leading centres across the UK. These opportunities allowed him to learn from some of the world's foremost surgeons and gain exposure to cutting-edge advances and the latest techniques in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery.

His training and fellowship experience provided wide-ranging expertise in the management of sports injuries around the shoulder and elbow, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder, calcific tendonitis, complex trauma including distal biceps tendon reconstruction, shoulder replacement surgery, and arthroscopic AC joint stabilisation and reconstruction.

Mr Yarashi currently holds a substantive NHS Consultant post at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

He has a strong commitment to teaching, innovation and research. He is passionate about education and is an Honorary Lecturer for Leicester Medical School, College of Life Sciences, as well as Educational Lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics Undergraduate Education at Northampton General Hospital, where he delivers weekly teaching to medical students. He has also developed widely used medical educational videos on Geeky Medics, viewed by more than six million people worldwide.

His enthusiasm for innovation led to his selection for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneurship Programme, where he was recognised as one of the Top 100 doctors in the UK on its inaugural cohort. In addition, he remains actively engaged in research and regularly attends advanced courses and simulated labs to remain at the forefront of surgical practice.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter. His personal interests include photography, cricket, Formula 1, meditation, and maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
