About me
Professor Vasanth Andrews is a consultant Gynaecologist working at Nuffield Woking He graduated from the United and Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London in 1996. He has more than 30 years experience as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He has clinical and research interests in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery and problems following childbirth. He is experienced in performing operative laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery including hysterectomies and treating endometriosis. He was trained in laparoscopic surgery by Professor Jeremy Wright and obtained a Distinction in his Masters degree in Advanced Gynaecological Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is also experienced in performing open and vaginal surgery.
Apart from keyhole surgery Vasanth also has a keen interest in problems following childbirth. Specifically, he has interests in the management of obstetric anal sphincter injuries (third and fourth degree tears), perineal problems including wound breakdown and painful intercourse after childbirth. He is trained to perform endoanal ultrasound and anal manometry. His research in this field led to his Doctorate in the diagnosis and management of Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASIS).
