About me

Ngwe Phyo is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Foot & Ankle surgery. Ngwe completed his training in 2020 and was appointed as Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. He is an orthopaedic member of the Diabetic Foot Multi-disciplinary team treating patients with diabetic foot diseases.

Ngwe qualified from the Institute of Medicine (1) Yangon, Myanmar in 2002. He did basic surgical training in Truro, Cornwall and completed his orthopaedic registrar training in Frimley Park Hospital. He is fellowship trained in Foot & Ankle and Diabetic foot reconstruction surgery. His fellowships were undertaken at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, King’s College Hospital in London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.

Ngwe has published numerous peer-reviewed papers on foot & ankle and diabetic foot surgery. He has lectured both nationally and internationally, on foot & ankle and trauma related topics. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) and the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA).

Ngwe is married to Kyi, who is an emergency physician and they have a young daughter.
