About me

Mr Vasanth Eswaramoorthy is a Fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Within Circle Health Group, he practices privately at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, Bishops Wood Hospital, and The Syon Clinic in London.

His NHS base is at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals, where he manages patients with lower limb injuries and performs elective hip and knee surgery. He is recognised for his patient-centred approach and consistently achieves excellent outcomes in hip and knee replacement surgery.

Mr Eswaramoorthy completed his Specialist Orthopaedic Training on the South East Thames Orthopaedic Training Programme, which included rotations at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals and King's College Hospital. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth) in 2017 and obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2018, gaining entry to the Specialist Register for Trauma and Orthopaedics.

He subsequently undertook a Hip Fellowship at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals, where he gained extensive experience in primary and revision hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, and young adult hip pathology. This was followed by a Complex Arthroplasty Fellowship at St George's Hospital, London, focusing on complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements, management of periprosthetic joint infections, and the use of custom prostheses. He also completed a Travelling Fellowship at University Hospital Bern, Switzerland, further developing his expertise in young adult hip pathology.

In addition to his clinical training, Mr Eswaramoorthy completed a Doctorate-level degree in Orthopaedic Research (MD Res) at St George's University of London, where he investigated the development of a novel hip replacement design. His research has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences, contributing to advancements in orthopaedic surgery and implant design.

Appointed as a Consultant at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals in 2021, Mr Eswaramoorthy has established a thriving practice in hip and knee surgery. His special interests include complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements, with a focus on providing personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's individual needs.
