Current Roles
Dr Kush Joshi is a highly experienced Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal medicine. He works at Homerton University Hospital, having previously held consultant posts at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, part of the Oxford University Hospital Trust, and within the Military of Defence. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians.
He is the tournament doctor for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, and doctor for the Great Britain canoeing team.
Teaching and Research Interests
Dr Kush Joshi is experienced in musculoskeletal ultrasound, lecturing at University of East London ultrasonography Post-graduate certification course. He is also a faculty member for the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine revision course, preparing individuals for the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine membership exam.
Dr Kush Joshi is well published in Sports and Exercise Medicine and currently is a scientific advisory board member for the European Union Horizon funded, Fortee project.
Previous experience
Kush graduated from King College’s London in 2008 completing his Sports and Exercise Medicine specialist training in London. He has worked at the Imperial College Hospital Trust, St Bart’s University Hospital Trust, University College Hospital and Royal Free Hospitals. He has previously been an anatomy demonstrator and spent time at the hand unit at Brown University in Rhode Island.
He has worked in elite sports for 8 years, working for Chelsea FC, Saracens RFC, the Lawn Tennis Association, GB Boxing and the English Institute of Sport.
What to expect
Kush is passionate about the non-surgical management of all musculoskeletal conditions. He He understands that injuries, either acute or persistent, can be frustrating for individuals and ensures that the diagnosis and management is clear from the outset to allow the best possible patient journey. He has a special interest in the use of ultrasound for both the management and diagnosis for musculoskeletal conditions.
