About me
I have worked primarily within the NHS in mental health services for both young people and adults over the last 20years. I have gained vast specialist experience within a complex mental health and tier 3 addiction services. I have worked as a Senior Specialist Substance Misuse Consultant with a multidisciplinary team for children services and with young offenders and their families.
Currently (from) 2020 I am specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (BABCP Accredited) for depression, low self-esteem and a range of anxiety disorders including Generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia/anxiety, health anxiety, long term health conditions, OCD, PTSD, and phobia. I am very passionate about mental health and supporting people to improve their psychological state. CBT can help individuals identify and challenge any unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. This can lead to a healthier alternative thought process and more helpful behaviours bringing about a positive change in how they think, feel, and behave.
I am also a qualified Sports Massage therapist (2014) and have a particular interest in the link between the physical body and mind particularly regarding impact of injury, recovery time and long term conditions. I have worked with cyclists, footballers, weightlifters, and marathon runners over the last 10years.
