About me

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Foot and Ankle pathologies.

I completed my Higher Specialty Training in London, in the South West Thames Rotation, and I my Fellowship years in Foot and Ankle surgery were based in Leicester.

I became a substantive NHS Consultant in 2019 at Kettering General Hospital, where I have a busy Trauma and Orthopaedics practice. I also have admitting rights to Ramsay Woodlands and Glendon Wood Hospital.

I have published various foot and ankle studies in peer reviewed journals, and I have been involved in studies that have been presented at a national and international level. In September 2024 my team won the best poster presentation at the British Orthopaedic Conference. In November 2019 I was part of a team that won the prize for the best podium presentation at the British Foot and Ankle Society.

As I like to keep active, having been engaged in a number of sports in my youth, I also have developed a subspecialty interest in foot and ankle sports injuries.

My approach to managing patients is to fully explore non surgical options, such as lifestyle advice, physiotherapy, insoles and shoe wear. If such interventions should not suffice, then I would explore the role of targeted injections or even shockwave therapy. Finally, if none of the above interventions should work, I would then discuss various surgical options with patients in order for us to come to a decision together.

I carry out all surgeries in a safe and planned manner, endeavouring to get the best results for my patients.

Areas of interest

I manage adult patients, those aged 18 years and over.

I manage all pathologies involving the foot and ankle. The more common problems I deal with are as follows:-

Achilles tendinitis; plantar fasciitis; Ankle arthritis; Hindfoot Arthritis; Plano-Valgus feet (Flat footedness); Cavo-Varus feet (High arched feet); Ankle sprains and ligament disruption; Osteochondral lesions (cartilage damage) in the ankle; Midfoot arthritis; Tendinitis; Tarsal Coalitions; Metatarsalgia (forefoot pain); Bunions; Hallux Rigidus (great toe arthritis); Claw toes; Hammer Toes; little toe Bunionette
