About me
I have been a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 2015 and have over 15 years experience working in mental health with clients from across the life span. My experience post qualification has predominantly been in the NHS, within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) settings. I have also worked within a higher education setting for a number of years prior to opening my private practice, Herts Mind Matters.
A natural human response to psychological distress is to avoid in order to minimise psychological pain. We have all been there, whether it be denying there is a problem or running away from the problem. One of the aims our therapeutic journey would be to stop avoiding and to begin unpacking your thoughts and feelings within a safe, non-judgmental environment with a view to finding solutions. I believe no one should feel alone or isolated with a particular difficulty.
I offer psychological assessment and intervention to both children and adults.
I can:
• help you understand the source of your emotional distress
• help you face up to the things that are difficult to face up to
• help you to find solutions and ways to create changes in your life
• help you to find healthier ways of managing difficult situations
• give you strength and motivation to take action
• help family members understand and support you better
