About me

Dr Simon Wilson is a highly experienced consultant interventional cardiologist at London Bridge Hospital and a specialist in coronary artery disease and percutaenous coronary intervention. He undertook a Fellowship at one of the highest volume complex coronary and chronic total occlusion intervention centres in Europe and is an international expert in angiography and percutaneous (stent) treatment of coronary disease. He has been invited to give talks and perform live cases throughout the UK, Europe, America, and the Middle East. He is highly experienced in invasive and non-invasive coronary imaging techniques that are used to understand the cause of your symptoms and determine what treatment (if needed) is most appropriate.

Dr Wilson graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 2004 and worked in Scotland, Ireland, and Australia before accepting a position at St George's University Hospitals in 2019. His approach to medicine is to help you under the cause of your symptoms and deliver evidence-based treatment to maximise quality of life and reduce the risk of any future cardiac problems. He believes in the importance of tailoring advice and therapies to the individual, working together to achieve the best possible outcome. His particular areas of interest are chest pain, angina, coronary artery disease, preventative cardiology, hypertension, shortness of breath, and palpitations.

Dr Wilson is head of governance for cardiology at St George's University Hospitals and is a member of the British Cardiovascular Society, British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, and Royal College of Physicians. He completed a PhD in cardiovascular research and received an Investigator Award from the European Society of Cardiology in 2017 for his work in development of new drugs to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. He has published extensively in a broad range of renowned, peer-reviewed medical journals and authored a book on the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease. He continues to carry out groundbreaking research in coronary revascularisation to ensure his patient receive the most up-to-date and best possible care, first time, every time.
