About me

I am a Principal Clinical Psychologist and registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. I am also an ACAT accredited CAT Practitioner.

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2013 and have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, supporting clients with mental health difficulties and who have experienced psychological trauma. I currently specialise working in an NHS Clinical Health Psychology service, offering individual therapy to people with acute and chronic physical health problems, including cancer, diabetes and palliative conditions. I find that CAT is useful and containing approach to understanding the relationship between our mental and physical health, as well as to help with adjustment when coping strategies are destabilised because of ill health or following a traumatic life event. Alongside my direct clinical work I also offer clinical supervision to a range of other professionals, and offer teaching, training and psychological consultation to support teams and services to work more psychologically.

I am drawn to CAT as a model of therapy due to its collaborative nature and focus on patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that can cause us to feel stuck. I also incorporate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and third wave approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy into my work. In my independent practice, I work with people who experience a range of difficulties, including trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and grief and loss. I offer a safe and confidential service to help people to feel better about themselves, deal with situations differently and develop effective coping strategies.
