About me

Dr Haston was initially trained at St Georges Hospital, London since 2001 before then moving up to Manchester and Lancashire where he then completed clinical oncology registrar training at the Christie and Royal Preston Hospital in 2017. He subsequently has been based for his NHS work at Royal Preston Hospital.

Dr Haston specialises in treating urological and colorectal cancers including prostate, bladder, bowel and anal cancer. Dr Haston does treatments to both cure cancers and also control them for a longer period of time. He works across the North West in Lancashire and South Cumbria including Preston, Lancaster, Blackburn, Blackpool areas.

He is the prostate radiotherapy lead for Lancashire and South Cumbria and has developed the SABR service for nodal radiotherapy.

Dr Haston has a special interest in training and developing services. He is the training lead for oncology SpRs and oncology junior doctors across Lancashire. He is a honorary clinical lecturer at Manchester medical school teaching their undergraduates. Dr Haston is an investigator in several international trials for both urology and colorectal cancers.

Dr Haston is a keen rugby player having played rugby for Wasps, he still enjoys coaching rugby to children at club level. He enjoys classical music and playing piano.
