About me
Hello, my name is Dr Tamara Vaughan, I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). I'm also an accredited EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) practitioner with EMDR Europe.
I'm passionate about supporting ambitious, thoughtful people who are outwardly successful but who inwardly carry a heavy load of stress, self-doubt, and the quiet belief that they're never quite enough.
Many of the people I work with are high-achievers and caregivers, who are used to holding everything together for everyone else. They're familiar with burnout, perfectionism, and the pressure to constantly perform, but beneath the surface, they carry something deeper:
A sense of disconnection from themselves, exhaustion from survival patterns, and sometimes pain rooted in personal or intergenerational trauma.
In my therapy practice, you'll be met with warmth and compassion from me; and an integrative and relational approach that creates a space to slow down, explore the layers of your experience, and reconnect with parts of yourself long overshadowed by the demands of life.
The primary models of therapy that I adopt are compassion focussed therapy (CFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and EMDR; alongside somatic practices and breathwork.
If you want to know more about me and my work, take a look at my website and if you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out.
Look forward to working with you.
