About me

I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist based in Little Horwood, Bucks. I also offer remote therapy sessions via Zoom.

I have completed full EMDR training for adults and young people and am working toward full Accreditation, which is optional but ensures the highest standards of practice.

I work with a range of problems such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, trauma, nightmares, long-term health conditions, personality disorders, low self-esteem, difficulty managing emotions and ADHD.

I have a special interest in ADHD, and have completed additional training in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. I am supervised by a Clinical Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist who are very experienced in this area. Although I predominantly offer CBT, I also draw on principles from other modalities such as DBT, CFT, ACT and Mindfulness. I have additional training in adapting CBT for long term health conditions, ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

As a Therapist, I am kind and compassionate, but will also be firm when this is needed. I pride myself on being non-judgemental, as most of my career has been working in prisons.

I am relaxed and you can expect our sessions to be informal, but feel that it's important to stay close to our evidence base and strive to deliver the highest standards of therapy. I am highly supervised for every aspect of my practice.

I am very flexible with my mostly neurodivergent caseload, not offering the *standard CBT* type treatments that haven't worked before. We send homework tasks by voice notes, set multiple reminders, set shared goals, and you won't be sent away with a worksheet and asked to bring it back next session! I have ADHD so I wouldn't do well with that goal and won't set it for you.

Please note, none of my other Therapists or Counsellors are registered with Bupa, so sessions can only be with myself for CBT/EMDR/ADHD assessments.

I have a Bernese Mountain Dog, who is in training to become an accredited Therapy Dog. She can be in assessment / therapy sessions though usually prefers to hang out in the waiting area. If you do not want a dog to be present at the location due to allergies, phobias or preferences, please consider remote therapy sessions.

I am not able to offer evening sessions, and usually reserve my later sessions for young people to minimise the impact on school. I usually conduct sessions weekly. The postcode for my therapy room is MK17 0PD.

I'm super passionate about offering free and low-cost support locally, so often run ADHD groups; offer free weekly f2f body doubling sessions; and also run low-cost group personal training sessions!

Please note, I have Virtual Assistants (Kat and Laura) who may reply to emails on my behalf.
