About me
I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who specialises in assessment and therapy for clients with progressive neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, Stroke and voice disorders. After graduating from the University of Reading in 2011 with a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy, I have worked in secure hospital settings, community outpatient, acute Stroke units and specialist Neurorehabilitation Units across both NHS and private sector settings. Within these settings I have supported clients with a range of conditions affecting both Swallowing and Communication.
I have provided second opinions and supported referrals for additional assessments to provide differential diagnosis, particularly in the area of Primary Progressive Aphasia.
With an emphasis on goal-focused, person-centred therapy, I ensure that all therapy is meaningful and functional and enables clients to reach their goals with both evidence-based and innovative therapy techniques. A focus on intensity is key and working outside of a clinic room where possible is integral to transferring skills to the real world.
I volunteer for Parkinson’s UK and Rare Dementia Support which is led by the UCL Dementia Research Centre. In this role I lead support groups for clients and carers in my local area.
