About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist who works with individuals in one-to-one therapy. I have 17 years of experience in mental health services across the NHS, in private practice and with organisations that wish to support employees to reach their highest potential.
Approaching therapy can feel daunting. Sometimes, people seek therapy with a clear idea of what is concerning them, such as anxiety, depression, repeating patterns in relationships, early experiences, or navigating life transitions. At other times, people may have a sense that things are not quite right and that therapy may be helpful. I aim to provide a compassionate, but gently challenging environment, where people have space to understand and navigate their thoughts and emotions, to offer insight and help make changes, and cultivate a life that feels authentic.
As a clinical psychologist, my core training means I am trained to work across a range of therapeutic models to understand and meet an individual's needs. My approach is informed by psychodynamic therapies, which understand current difficulties as being shaped by past experiences that influence our thoughts and feelings. It aims to explore experiences that may not always be within reach and bring them to the surface. By attending to both the past and the present, we may uncover patterns that offer new ways of understanding and relating to ourselves and others. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which can be used to process emotions and memories related to painful experiences and traumas.
I offer online and face-to-face appointments.
Areas of interest
I have worked with people facing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, physical health issues with an emotional aspect and emotional and relational struggles. I have a special interest in working with women related to their perinatal journey, navigating birth trauma, pregnancy, and supporting transition to motherhood/parenthood. I also have experience working with people, integrating a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism. Alongside my independent practice, I also work in perinatal mental health services in the NHS.
