About me
I am a qualified Psychotherapist with an MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Applications (UKCP registered). I also hold a BSc in Business and Psychology.
I have been a practising counsellor since 2018, and have worked in a variety of settings including within the NHS, as a therapist at Headstrong Counselling, and in private practice.
Psychotherapy can offer support through life’s challenges and can help with difficult emotions and difficulties including loss, loneliness, anxiety, stress, depression, addictions and domestic violence.
You may be seeking counselling or psychotherapy for any number of reasons. Perhaps something specific has happened to you that you would like to talk about. Perhaps you don't really know what is wrong, but you are aware of feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed or stressed and feel you would like some support in working through and exploring what might be informing those feelings.
In both, and all cases, my approach as a Psychotherapist is to work in a way which provides a safe, empathetic and confidential space, where you and I can together, explore what has brought you to therapy, and help you get back on track.
I offer a warm, safe environment, encompassing the Person-Centred conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard, which allows the client to bring themselves and their experiences without fear of judgement. I seek to work together with clients, providing guidance and support in the process of self-discovery and healing.
At the core of my practice and work, is a focus on the importance and value of the client truly being heard and seen, and that the client themselves is in the driving seat of their own recovery.
Areas of interest
I specialise in depression; anxiety; domestic abuse; and eating disorders.
I also specialise and have experience in supporting parents of multiple births, having completed research on " Exploring the lived experience of mothers of twins".
