About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist who supports adults, children, and teenagers to understand and work through their challenges. My style of therapy is thoughtful, creative, and empowering. I aim to create an environment where people can express their thoughts and feelingsno matter how confusing or personalwithout fear of judgment. Together, we work collaboratively, with client's needs guiding our conversations. I share my insights and ask questions to help them see things from new angles, which can open up new possibilities in their life.

I blend different therapeutic approaches to provide various tools for therapeutic work. I use insights from psychodynamic and developmental theories, trauma research, and neuroscience to understand the difficulties you may be facing. When appropriate, I might include creative methods like art, play, sand tray, Gestalt, psychoeducation, CBT, and mindfulness to foster therapeutic exploration and build client's coping skills.

In my approach, I bear in mind the differences between neurocognitive styles. Each person's mind and body work differently, with its strengths and weaknesses. I welcome clients who identify as neurodiverse and adjust ways of working to everyone's needs.

I specialize in psychotherapy for children and adolescents. I am aware that growing is very complicated, and children today face many unique challenges. Emotions like anxiety, low self-esteem, or anger can surface during these times. As a therapist for young clients, I aim to build a trusting and confidential relationship, forming a playful and creative environment that suits their developmental needs. Creative tools like art and play can be invaluable for children to express their feelings.

I also offer sessions for parents to reflect on their parenting experience and, this way, support their child or their family. These sessions allow parents to gain fresh insights into their interactions and emotions, helping them to move on from familiar patterns and discover healthier ways to relate to their children. This supportive and non-judgmental space allows one to explore the intense feelings of parenting, build new skills, and increase confidence as a parent.

I have over 25 years of experience in the mental health sector, where I have engaged in various therapeutic and caregiving roles and clinical management, academic tuition, and supervision. Before establishing my own clinical practice, I gained experience across multiple settings, including children's homes, services for children transitioning out of care, psychiatric wards, an addiction treatment center, and residential family assessment centers. Since qualifying as a psychotherapist, I have worked in a demanding tier 2 NHS service, managed clinical services for a mental health charity, and provided psychotherapy in many primary and secondary schools.

I hold two Master of Arts degrees pertinent to mental health, namely in Applied Psychology and Integrative Psychotherapy, which complement each other and enhance my professional practice.
