About me
I am a General and Upper Gastrointestinal Consultant Surgeon at The Spire Hospital Bristol, where I assess and treat various conditions. These include groin and other abdominal wall hernias, gallstones, and acid reflux.
In addition, I am part of the oesophago-gastric team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. This is the regional center for oesophageal and gastric cancer. Here, we offer comprehensive surgical and endoscopic treatments for both early and advanced cancer.
I have worked as an NHS consultant in Bristol since 2020. I studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and completed my clinical training in the Southampton, London, and Bristol areas. I also received specialised training in oesophago-gastric cancer surgery at St Thomas' Hospital in London, which is one of the highest-volume units in the country.
I enjoy blending my clinical practice with academic research. I earned a PhD from Imperial College London in 2016, focusing on high performance in surgery at the Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality. I am passionate about contributing to ongoing research aimed at improving patient experiences and outcomes, particularly in the upper gastrointestinal field.
