Dr Goldsmith completed his undergraduate medical training in Cape Town, South Africa, and subsequently trained in anaesthetics, general medicine and intensive care medicine in the UK. He gained an additional year of specialisation in Anaesthetics & Intensive Care in Perth, Australia. He was appointed Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine (ICU) at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester in 1999. He served as Clinical Director of Anaesthetics, Critical Care & Pain services at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for 6 years until 2018. He has worked as a consultant anaesthetist in local private hospitals and the NHS since 1999.
