About me

I am a senior Chartered Counselling Psychologist. Over the last 22 years I have worked therapeutically with adults, young people, children and families in both the NHS and private settings.

I'm also employed as a senior Tutor and Clinical Supervisor on a Postgraduate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) programme. This role involves the development and delivery of postgraduate training in CBT and the provision of clinical supervision. I have been a CBT Tutor for more than 12 years.

I offer clinical supervision to mental health professionals in the NHS; private practice and those in training.

I have a warm and compassionate approach to offering support. At the core of my practice is the creation of a nurturing, safe, and respectful therapeutic space. Part of our journey will involve making sense of your unique strengths and life experiences to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your struggles. Together we will work towards finding ways to enhance your psychological well-being and progressing towards your valued goals.

I have experience of supporting clients dealing with a range of difficulties including social anxiety; obsessive compulsive disorder; intrusive thoughts; health anxiety; low self-esteem; panic disorder; depression; specific phobia of vomiting (emetophobia); agoraphobia; trauma and PTSD; generalised anxiety disorder; separation anxiety; phobias; and body dissatisfaction struggles.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Behavioural Activation; Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT); Trauma-Focused CBT; Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR); Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Person-Centred Counselling. My practice is also guided by principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Systemic Therapy. More recently in 2022, I completed a Research Doctorate degree in Psychology with a focus on exposure-based therapy to treat a range of anxiety difficulties.
I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also an accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
I offer remote appointments, as well as face-to-face appointments in Westhoughton, Bolton.
