About me

I am senior Chartered Counselling Psychologist. Over the last 20 years I have worked therapeutically with adults; young people; children and families in both the NHS and private settings.

I’m also employed as a senior Tutor and clinical supervisor on a Postgraduate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) training programme. I have been a CBT tutor for more than 10 years and this role involves the development and delivery of postgraduate training in CBT.

Prior to qualifying as a Psychologist, I was employed as a Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapist. I was the CBT lead clinician and provided CBT clinical supervision to therapists across the Trust.

In addition to completing my Doctorate level training in Counselling Psychology, I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Behavioural Activation; Compassionate Focused Therapy; and EMDR. More recently I completed a Research Doctorate degree in Psychology with a focus on exposure therapy to treat a range of anxiety difficulties.

I have a kind and compassionate approach to offering therapeutic support. At the core of my practice is the creation of a therapeutic space that feels nurturing, safe, and respectful. I take great care in working collaboratively with individuals towards a shared understanding of their strengths, difficulties and unique experiences and finding ways together towards making change.

I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I am also an accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist & an accredited CBT clinical supervisor with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

I offer remote appointments, as well as face-to-face appointments in Westhoughton, Bolton.
