Dr Amelia Boshoff is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with more than 23 years of clinical experience working with adults, children, young people, and families across both NHS and private settings.
She provides therapy and support for a range of difficulties including anxiety; depression; social anxiety; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); intrusive thoughts; health anxiety; panic disorder; low self-esteem; trauma; PTSD; agoraphobia; emetophobia (fear of vomiting); generalised anxiety disorder; separation anxiety; phobias; and body image difficulties.
She utilises a range of evidence-based therapeutic therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT); Trauma-Focused CBT; Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP); Behavioural Activation; Person-Centred Counselling; Interpersonal Family Systems (IFS); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Dr Amelia is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and an accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Dr Amelia has also worked as a Senior Tutor and Clinical Supervisor on a Postgraduate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training programme for over 13 years, teaching and supervising therapists in training.
She offers both remote therapy sessions and face-to-face appointments in Westhoughton, Bolton.
