About me
Mr Charis Kyriakides is a Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon with a special interest in laparoscopic benign biliary disease as well as open and laparoscopic hernia surgery. As a consultant surgeon at Croydon University Hospital, he serves a large and diverse community in South London.
Mr Charis Kyriakides completed his graduate medical degree at Semmelweis University School of Medicine, obtaining the title of Doctor of Medicine (MD) with distinction. Subsequently, he specialised in General Surgery in Athens, Greece before pursuing further training in the UK.
Mr Kyriakides trained as a Fellow in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital (Imperial College) for four years, followed by two years at the Royal London Hospital (Barts Health), where he gained valuable experience in benign and malignant hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease. He has been a General and Upper GI Consultant since 2015 and was appointed at Croydon University Hospital in 2020.
Mr Kyriakides has undertaken clinical research and is published in peer-reviewed journals. He has presented his work internationally in meetings and conferences. He is passionate about teaching undergraduates as well as at the Royal College of Surgeons courses and workshops.
Mr Kyriakides is committed to delivering outstanding care, with special emphasis on a holistic and safe patient journey.
