About me

Mr Fadi Housami is a consultant urological surgeon since 2016 based in Liverpool .

Fellowship trained in the management of kidney stone disease and stone surgery. He has specialist surgical skills in endoscopic treatment of stones (LASER) as well as minimally-invasive kidney stone surgery (keyhole). To date he has performed over 1100 ureteroscopy and 150 percutaneous nephrolithomy procedures.

Additionally he has an interest in urinary tract infections and benign prostate enlargement, offering a thorough clinical assessment, diagnostic procedures including flexible cystoscopy as well as medical or surgical treatment.

He also offers assessment and surgical management of foreskin problems (such as phimosis or tight frenulum) and scrotal problems (such as hydrocele or epididymal cyst). Mr Housami has significant experience in performing adult circumcision under local anaesthesia.


Academic Background
Mr Housami qualified from Damascus University, Syria. He completed Basic Surgical Training in Southwest England followed by clinical research at the Bristol Urological Institute where he studied the use of non-invasive urodynamics to investigate benign prostate obstruction and presented his work at international urology conferences both in Europe and the USA.

He completed Urology Specialist Training in the West of Scotland followed by advanced training in stones surgery with an Endourology Fellowship at the Scottish Lithotripter Centre in Edinburgh. During his training he visited specialist urology centres in Sri Lanka to refine his skills in percutaneous access for keyhole stone surgery. He was appointed as Consultant Urologist and Stone Surgeon to Aintree University Hospital in 2016.

Mr Housami holds a Medical Education qualification from Plymouth University and contributes to urology training both in the Northwest region and nationally.
