About me

I am a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in Lower limb arthroplasty & Knee Surgery. I completed my higher surgical training in Glasgow including an 1 year placement at Golden Jubilee hospital, an European centre of excellence for arthroplasty and the pioneering hospital in UK to implement enhanced recovery. I learnt the principles and surgical skills of hip and knee arthroplasty as well as enhanced recovery which I am continuing to implement in clinical practice. During my training in Glasgow, I also worked with pioneers in Knee surgery including Mr. Kinninmoth who helped me in understanding the principles of knee surgery while making me realise that alignment and ligamentous stability are two corner stones of any successful knee intervention. This compelling knowledge led me to undertake two specialist knee fellowships BOA Transitional knee fellowship in Knee osteotomy and soft tissue knee surgery where I learnt the principles of knee realignment. I complimented this fellowship with Derby Sports knee fellowship with Mr. Geutjens where I learnt various soft tissue ligamentous reconstructions.

I am competent to perform Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee replacement, Unicondylar Knee replacement, Patello femoral Knee replacement, Patellofemoral stabilisation surgeries including MPFL and TTO, ACL reconstruction, multi ligamentous reconstruction as well as meniscal and cartilage surgeries.

I am strong proponent of reflective learning and I keenly follow up my patients, evaluating my results and learning from them. I actively submit my patient information including PROMS data (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) with their consent to various joint registries including joint registry and osteotomy registry.

I have a strong interest in teaching, and I have been regularly teaching the Higher surgical trainees in Manchester for their FRCS examination. I have a strong interest in research participating in several projects which has led to multiple publications in several international journals - including my own personal experience of ACL reconstruction in the reputed Journal of Knee surgery.

I live in Altrincham with my family. I share a strong passion in ancient history and enjoy travelling to historical sites enjoying the ancient architecture. I regularly go to gym every morning to keep myself fit.
