About me
Dr Flora Wilson specialises in clinical health psychology. She has experience in the management of various long-term health difficulties, including chronic pain, respiratory conditions, neurological conditions, diabetes, ME/CFS, and post-viral fatigue. Flora is skilled at working with mood, anxiety and trauma-related difficulties in the context of a physical illness or unexplained physical symptoms. She can support clients to adjust to the challenges and uncertainties that often accompany a long-term health problem.
Flora first started working in NHS mental health services in 2008 before completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with the University of Bath in 2015. Since qualifying, she has worked in medical teams across a range of NHS settings, as well as in independent practice. She currently holds positions in Pain Management and Respiratory Rehabilitation. Flora is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the BABCP. In addition to CBT, she is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
