About me

Dr. Kerry Aston is a UK-trained Consultant Rheumatologist and IFM Certified Practitioner (IFMCP), registered with the General Medical Council. She studied Medicine at Queen's University Belfast and completed her specialist Rheumatology training at Musgrave Park Hospital.
In addition to her rheumatology expertise, Dr Aston holds a postgraduate diploma with distinction in Sports and Exercise Medicine, allowing her to take an integrated approach to musculoskeletal health, performance, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Dr Aston provides expert assessment and treatment for a wide range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions, including inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, connective tissue diseases, osteoporosis, and soft tissue conditions including frozen shoulder, tendon disorders, and carpal tunnel syndrome. She is known for combining evidence-based medical care with a broader, whole-person perspective that considers lifestyle, nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, hormones, and metabolic health alongside conventional diagnosis and treatment.
Alongside her NHS and private rheumatology practice, Dr Aston has undertaken advanced postgraduate training with The Institute for Functional Medicine and is now an IFM Certified Practitioner (IFMCP). This additional expertise enables her to support patients with complex and chronic health concerns through a more personalised, root-cause-focused approach, particularly where inflammation, fatigue, autoimmune disease, gut health, hormonal changes, and lifestyle factors may be contributing to symptoms.
Dr Aston is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine Ireland, a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, and a member of both the British Society for Rheumatology and the Irish Society for Rheumatology
