About me

I was the lead clinician for Inflammatory Bowel Disease in the Trust for many years. I am currently the lead for hepatobiliary endoscopy (ERCP) as well as the lead clinician for Gastroenterology research. Under my leadership, the research team at Whiston won the NIHR award of the best commercial research team in the North West for the year 2020. I am also the principle investigator for the largest portfolio of commercial gastro-intestinal trials in the north of England.

I credit empathy and compassion as the ultimate values in my practice of medicine.

I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust since 2000.
