About me
Mr. Ankit Desai is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions. He is currently practising at the NHS Frimley Park Hospital, where he has a busy practice focusing on both elective and trauma cases related to the shoulder and elbow.
Mr Desai completed his medical training at University College London, where he also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology. He underwent his orthopaedic training in the Surrey and Sussex region, working alongside renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons in major hospitals in the southeast of England. He further honed his skills by completing a fellowship at the prestigious South West Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC) and training at the internationally renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.
With a strong belief in shared decision-making, Mr Desai emphasises patient education to ensure that individuals understand their conditions and are actively involved in making informed choices about their treatment. His areas of expertise include treating rotator cuff injuries, shoulder and elbow instability, frozen shoulder, shoulder replacements, and tennis elbow. He is skilled in advanced keyhole surgery techniques and utilises modern surgical techniques and implants to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients.
Mr Desai is an active member of various professional societies, including the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS). Through his commitment to ongoing professional development and dedication to patient-centred care, he strives to provide the highest quality treatment for individuals with shoulder and elbow conditions.
