I have been a consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals since 2001, after training in Edinburgh and Australia.

I perform around 360 hip and knee replacements per year.

I have been a national examiner in orthopaedics for 10 years and published 30 peer reviewed research papers. I am a recognised trainer in orthopaedics.

Personal interests

Mr McLauchlan enjoys road cycling and has ridden from London to Paris, raising money for Rock FM â€“ Cash for Kids.
He is also partaking in the Prudential Ride London 2019 raising money for Pancreatic Cancer.
He took up skiing relatively late and is still intact so far!
He provides medical cover for Preston Grasshoppers.

Has been active in teaching throughout his training and lectured on the FRCS course in Edinburgh. Continued this into his consultant practise and as well as being active in the teaching of orthopaedic post graduates has lectured to local General Practitioners and physiotherapists.
