About me

Dr Robinson qualified as a doctor from Oxford University in 1989. He specialises in all aspects of gastroenterology and has a wealth of experience in all aspects of gastrointestinal disease, endoscopic procedures and teaching.

Dr Robinson has held senior management positions in clinical and teaching roles and has a PhD in addition to his medical training. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Most importantly he is a kind and caring clinician who takes time to listen to patients, focusing on their holistic and clinical needs and has many publications promoting the value of patient-centred care.

Research interests

I have published several papers in peer reviewed journals including the Lancet, Gut and Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
The main themes of my research are colitis, adherence to medication, patient information and participation in decision-making. I have supervised several PhD students and led on several New Drug trials at Salford Royal Hospital.

Personal interests

I have a passion for travel, gardening and the great outdoors. I used to enjoy basic horse-riding until I got thrown once too often and I am still searching for a new mid-life recreation.
